Nothing Says Fall Like Burgundy and Python Print

Today I wanted something comfortable but professional to wear to work.  The weather was a bit cool, but it was supposed to warm up later so I wore a coat for the morning.  I had recently purchased this dress in two different colors, black and burgundy, since it was so comfortable and a perfect blank slate to dress up or down with different accessories.  For today I went simple with a python printed belt and nude heels.  I was running a bit late so I put my hair up in a bun, but I think it went well with the outfit.  I love the color burgundy for fall.  What do you think about the color?  Does this color say fall to you?

Polka Dot Party!

Today I aimed to recreate one of my favorite outfits I have seen recently on Pinterest.  I paired a polka dot pencil skirt with a white top and black blazer.  I completed the outfit with heels and a statement necklace.  I loved the outfit and thought it came together quite nicely.  Do you ever see an outfit online that you can't wait to recreate?

Parent Conference Professionalism

Today was the second day of parent teacher conferences.  I had an extremely long day planned with fourteen conferences and an hour long IEP meeting.  I decided to dress professionally today with a black pencil skirt, patterned blouse, and a blazer.  I added a modern twist by choosing animal print and a red-orange blazer instead of a more muted tone.  I finished the look with pointed toe heels, complete with a bow detail.  I loved this outfit and got a lot of compliments on it.  How do you add a modern twist to your professional wear?

Frumptastic Day

Today I woke up exhausted.  I didn't feel much like dressing up today so I decided on some colored skinny jeans and layered a collared shirt under a polka dot sweater.  Overall, I thought the idea was cute, but I was feeling really lazy and frumpy all day.  I would probably rework this outfit if I were going to try wearing something similar again.  Do you ever have one of those days where you wake up tired?  What do you wear on those days?

Lavendar and Navy Redo

Today I wanted an outfit that was comfortable and professional.  I decided to rework an outfit that I had worn a few months ago.  See here for previous outfit.  I paired a navy and lavender striped tank with a cardigan in the same colors.  I finished off the outfit with a navy pencil skirt and heels.  The outfit was comfortable and I love the way the colors go together.  Do you ever rework an outfit you've worn before.  Do you end up liking the new version better?

All Aboard the Wine Train!

This weekend I had a family trip planned.  I went with my parents and brother for a long weekend to Prescott, AZ.  On the first day, we had tickets for a train ride through the desert from Clarkdale to Williams and back.  The ride was beautiful and we got tons of great pictures.  The next day we drove to Jerome, AZ for some shopping and wine tasting.  After heading back to the hotel for a nap, we went out to Whiskey Row in Prescott to visit some of my dad's favorite little bars.  Sunday was an extremely long driving day, but it was well worth it after such a great weekend.

The weather was generally pretty cool so I decided to pack staples of sweaters and riding boots.  I was comfortable and stylish all weekend long.  What do you like to wear when you travel to a cooler climate?

Black Midi Dress

Today I planned on wearing a dress that I had found recently in the H&M Basics department.  I saw this dress and fell in love.  It's a black three quarter sleeve midi dress and was so simple that the possibilities were endless.  And the price didn't hurt either.  I had been on the hunt for a simple black dress and this one fit the bill.  Today I added a leopard print belt and nude heels.  It was a simple outfit to put together but came across and sophisticated and classy.  I really liked the comfort level of a stretchy jersey dress for a day packed with teaching and after school errands.  What do you think about simple black dresses?  Are they a wardrobe staple?
